I am a Medical Biological Scientist (HPCSA) specialising in clinical diagnostic virology, currently based at CERI. I am a PhD fellow at Stellenbosch University, where my research focuses on advancing viral pathogen surveillance—particularly the integration of next?generation sequencing (NGS) workflows into ISO?accredited diagnostic environments. My work bridges clinical virology, genomics, and quality?driven laboratory implementation.
I bring over five years of experience across government and private diagnostic laboratories, including previous employment at the National Health Laboratory Service (NHLS) at Groote Schuur Hospital. My professional background spans ISO 15189, ISO 9001, and ISO 17025 systems, with hands-on involvement in SANAS audits, root?cause analysis, workflow optimisation, and quality management system (QMS) alignment.
